For Richer or Poorer, Life Goes On.

I read recently that 20% of the richest people in America holds 85% of the country's wealth: "Americans are horribly misinformed about who has money http://su.pr/2Ys6yO". And in Singapore, in 2007/8, "60 per cent of Singapore households earn less than national average http://bit.ly/75YmCM".

Last week, mum and I made major financial decisions. It has left me really broke. I only have less than $500 spending money until my next pay. It's gonna be a long March.

So I have to draft up budget plans...yet again. Anyway, it is the season of Lent, the season to be extra closer to God. So I'm gonna focus on frugality.

1. No feasting/partying unless it calls for it with friends :)
2. No gambling except Mahjong with friends :)
3. No new clothes/accessories, still. I have kept that resolution well.
4. No new Clarins products; I have enough anyway.
5. No more hairsalon-quality hair colour.
6. I can still indulge in Marks & Spencer; soups only. God knows I love it.
7. No travelling beyond S.E.A.
8. No air-conditioning if I can.
9. All the above until September 2011.

The Season of Lent ends on Good Friday or Easter Sunday; around there lah. If I can keep this up till then, it shouldn't be a problem to September. I have more bills to pay at the end of the year.

So, friends, if you see me spending, remind me I'm flat broke. I'm just glad I already paid my Dad for the Biochannel package. And I can still indulge in nailpolish; just bought "rusty gold" for S$2. I dun consider it an accessory, like makeup. Wish me luck!
